Vudu, via its
mobile app for iOS or
Android, now allows users to scan the barcodes on their DVD and Blu-ray boxes to "convert" them to
digital copies. Converting a DVD to an SD digital copy, or a Blu-ray to an HD copy, costs
$2; upgrading a DVD to an HD version costs
$5. Current Vudu users will get one conversion for
free.
